All exhibits in this exhibition – which took place from January 20 to February 18, 2023 in the Kulturhalle Tübingen – are based on algorithms and their implementation and display is tied to technical devices. On this basis, they often foresee a participation of the recipients in the creation and output of the media elements. Thereby, there are differences in active or passive participation for them depending on the allowed activities and scope of action. The exhibition Painting with Machines thus aims to stimulate reflection on the role of both technical tools and recipients in the process of creating artistic artifacts. In addition to these characteristics, through which the creation and handling of art objects is thematized, all exhibits claim an aesthetic quality of their own.

Alle Exponate in dieser Ausstellung – die vom 20. Januar bis 18. Februar 2023 in der Kulturhalle Tübingen stattfand – basieren auf Algorithmen und ihre Umsetzung und Darstellung ist an technische Geräte gebunden. Auf dieser Grundlage sehen sie oft eine Beteiligung der Rezipienten an der Entstehung und Ausgabe der medialen Elemente vor. Dabei gibt es für sie je nach erlaubten Aktivitäten und Handlungsspielräumen Unterschiede in der aktiven oder passiven Partizipation. Die Ausstellung Malen mit Maschinen möchte damit anregen, über die Rolle sowohl der technischen Werkzeuge als auch der Rezipienten im Entstehungsprozess künstlerischer Artefakte nachzudenken.Neben diesen Eigenschaften, durch die die Entstehung und der Umgang mit Kunstobjekten thematisiert wird, beanspruchen alle Exponate eine eigene ästhetische Qualität.
